About the role

We are currently looking for a qualified Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to join our team to operate and maintain gas facilities and pipelines on Jemena’s Eastern Gas Pipeline (EGP) assets.

You will play an integral part of the Zinfra transmission team and will be working on compressor, metering and regulating facilities, as well as pipelines and easements from Seaspray to the border of Victoria (north of the Cann River).

We are seeking E&I qualifications along with the ability to undertake pipeline operator tasks as part of this role.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Operate and maintain high-pressure natural gas equipment
  • Perform maintenance on valves and mechanical equipment
  • Conduct patrols and maintenance of pipeline easements
  • Liaise with landholders and public authorities
  • Complete a range of pipeline duties including electrical work, documentation, and record keeping
  • Travel interstate and intrastate as required

Roster: 9-day fortnight (supporting work–life balance) and participation in an on-call roster (1 in 4).

 About You

 You will be an experienced E&I Technician with a strong commitment to safety and teamwork, bringing:

  • Experience in Electrical & Instrumentation within the gas industry or a related sector (e.g. energy, mining, construction)
  • Current VIC Electrical Worker Licence
  • Trade qualification in Electrical and/or Instrumentation
  • Valid driver’s licence (MR or higher desirable)
  • Type B appliance accreditation (highly desirable)
  • NACE 1 (CP1) and/or NACE 2 (CP2) accreditation (highly desirable)
