About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to join our Gas Distribution Team, where you will be responsible for the safe operations and delivery of field delivery for both maintenance and routine projects.

This critical role is accountable for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of pipelines and pipeline facilities including the timely completion of all Planned and Corrective Maintenance and Repairs, Emergency Response Services, ROW Patrol, Routine and Non-Routine Capital (including construction as required) within a designated region for the Gas Services Team. The Team leader is also responsible for ensuring field resources are appropriately trained, competent and complete scheduled works within agreed timeframes in line with business performance metrics. This role will be based at our Hume depot however you will also spend much of your time out in the field.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Support the operational departments in achieving safety targets for TRIFR and lead indicators 
  • Provide the operational departments with reports /data insights that drive predictive analytics and agile data driven decision making 
  • Undertake Leadership safety walks as per schedule 
  • Planning – defining goals, setting roles/structure and communicating requirements to your employees 
  • Review – regularly reviewing your employees’ performance to ensure role accountabilities are met 
  • Reward & Recognise – using the Jemena Reward and Recognition framework to maximise your employees’ performance outcomes Cultivate and support a culture where behaviours are consistent with Zinfra’s values 
  • Manage stakeholder relationships to support the achievement of internal and client KPIs 
  • Ensure that customers are continually aware of their current program/project status through effective reporting and management 
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement  

About You

You will be customer and safety focussed with a passion for developing others. Being able to make accurate and timely decisions as well as being an effective and confident communicator will see you set up for success in this role, as well as the following attributes:

  •  Prior experience in a leadership role as well as prior experience in the gas transmission / distribution industry
  • A proactive, professional and flexible approach to work, conscientious, takes personal responsibility for own work and is accountable for its delivery and quality
  • High analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good organisational skills and be able to manage own time effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail and prioritisation skills
  • Effective and confident communicator maintains confidentiality and demonstrates high presentation skills
  • Able to build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues
