About the role

The Customer Project Manager is responsible for customer-initiated projects within a geographical area of the United Energy network and is the contact point for customer inquiries relating to electricity supply increases and asset relocation works.

 The Customer Project Manager leads and manages customer projects with:

  • Design
  • Planning
  • Negotiation
  • Co-ordination and management of human, material and capital resources.

Additional duties include:

  • Facilitating effective communication with clients, service providers, and authorities.
  • Managing changes in project scope.
  • Providing timely guidance to key stakeholders.
  • Cultivating networks with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Managing community engagement.
  • Offering technical advice on supply connection.
  • Anticipating and meeting client needs.
  • Providing cost estimates.
  • Fulfilling monthly financial reporting.
  • Supporting budget development and monitoring.

About you

You’ll ideally have experience in project management, comprehensive expertise in the tendering process, and proficient contract administration skills. Exceptional time management abilities are essential, complemented by strong verbal, interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills. In addition you will have:

  • A Diploma in Power or other relevant qualification within the power industry.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role where you managed the connection of supply within the electrical distribution industry.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of all electrical supply policies, maintenance strategies and industry governing regulations.
  • Proficiency in electrical distribution design.
  • Sound financial management skills.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft office and customer information system packages.
