Port Macquarie War Memorial Olympic Swimming Pool | The Y

Located just minutes from the Port Macquarie CBD, this is more than a swimming pool — it’s a vibrant community hub where people of all ages come to stay active, learn, and connect.

As part of The Y NSW, the centre plays an important role in supporting the local community. Every membership, class, and visit helps fund a wide range of youth and community programs — so working here means contributing to something bigger than just a job.

  • 50m outdoor Olympic pool
  • 25m dive pool
  • Kids and toddler pool
  • Swim school programs for all ages
  • Aqua aerobics and fitness programs

It’s a space that’s always active — from early morning lap swimmers to families, school groups, and community programs throughout the day.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly individual to join our team as a part-time Swimming Pool Receptionist and Customer Service team member. This is a wonderful opportunity to work alongside a dedicated group of people who are passionate about delivering exceptional experiences to our community.

Together, we create a welcoming and safe environment for all of our visitors, and we would love for you to be a part of that journey with us.

What You Will Be Doing

As a valued member of our team, you will collaborate with colleagues and engage with our community in a variety of meaningful ways, including:

  • Greeting and welcoming swimmers, families, and visitors as they arrive at the facility
  • Managing front desk reception duties in a warm and professional manner
  • Handling enquiries in person, over the phone, and via email
  • Processing memberships, bookings, and payments accurately and efficiently
  • Working closely with the wider aquatic team to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Assisting customers with information about programs, classes, and facility services
  • Helping to maintain a clean, organised, and inviting reception area
  • Supporting the team in resolving customer concerns with care and professionalism

What You Will Bring to the Team

We believe the best outcomes happen when we work together, and we are looking for someone who shares that belief. Ideally, you will bring:

  • A genuine passion for customer service and community engagement
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable nature
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Confidence using computers and point-of-sale or booking systems
  • Reliability and flexibility to work part-time hours, including weekends or early mornings
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow with us
  • Previous experience in a reception or customer-facing role (desirable but not essential)

Why Join Us?

We are proud of the supportive and inclusive culture we have built together, and we are committed to helping every team member thrive. When you join us, you can look forward to:

  • A collaborative and encouraging team environment
  • Flexible part-time hours to support your work-life balance
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • The chance to make a real difference in your local community

If this sounds like the kind of team you would love to be part of, we would be thrilled to hear from you. Apply today and let's build something great together!
