Represent the 2027 Youth Parliament Cohort & put your signature on the program through an innovative Youth Governor project!
The Youth Governor serves as the face of the Youth Parliament Program. They will represent the views and opinions of the young people engaged with the Y NSW through advocacy, media interaction and engaging with relevant stakeholders. The Youth Governor will report to the Youth and Child Voice Manager, and will be supported by the Youth Voice Coordinator.
The Youth Governor serves as a positive role model to the participants of the Youth Parliament program, and upholds the Y NSW Values of Safe, Connect and Thrive.
To complete your application, please ensure you submit the following:
- Your completed project plan (using the template provided)
- A max 2 page cover letter answering the following questions:
- Why are you applying to be Youth Governor and what do you hope to achieve in the role?
- What are your core values and how do they show up for you as a leader?
- What do you think will challenge you the most in this role?
- How will you model the Y NSW values: Safe, Connect & Thrive?
**This position is only open to current year 12 participants in the Y NSW Youth Parliament Program**
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Undergo formal onboarding process for the Volunteer Taskforce-including Safeguarding training and any additional training as required.
- Completed Police Checks
- Signed Volunteer Agreement and Taskforce Code of Conduct.
- Full attendance at both Training and Residential Camps.
- Remain apolitical while representing the program and engaging with participants.
