The Y Brooke Avenue OSHC is a welcoming, school‑based Out of School Hours Care service that supports children through Before and After School Care. The Centre prioritises safety and consistency. The team fosters a culture of respect, kindness, and trust, where every child is recognised as an important part of the OSHC community.

Programs at The Y Brooke Avenue OSHC are designed to encourage meaningful connection through hands‑on activities, collaborative games and opportunities for self‑expression. Children are supported to explore their interests, build friendships, and develop independence at their own pace. Ultimately, creating a space where children can grow, belong, and thrive.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an Introductory OSHC Educator. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about working with children and making a meaningful difference in their before and after school care experience.

As an Introductory OSHC Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for school-aged children. You will work collaboratively with a supportive team to deliver high-quality care and educational programs that align with the My Time, Our Place framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage with children in a safe and supportive environment during before and after school care hours
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and programs that promote children's learning, development, and wellbeing
  • Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the documentation and assessment of children's learning and development
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe program environment at all times
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with families regarding their child's daily experiences
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and training as required

About You

  • A genuine passion for working with school-aged children and supporting their growth and development
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage positively with children, families, and team members
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to your work
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • A commitment to upholding child safety, inclusion, and diversity principles
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of professional responsibility

Requirements

  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma management certificates (or willingness to obtain)
  • Willingness to work towards a relevant qualification in Children's Services or Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Availability to work before and after school hours, as well as during school vacation care periods
