Our Recreation Team is a vibrant, close-knit group of people who are passionate about community, wellbeing, and creating positive experiences. At The Y Broken Hill, we provide a welcoming and inclusive space where local families, children, and community members can stay active, connect, and belong through our health and fitness classes, gymnastics programs, meeting spaces, and birthday party offerings.
We are seeking an experienced and community-minded Centre Manager to lead the overall operations, performance, and growth of the centre. This is a key leadership role responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences, driving business outcomes, ensuring a safe and compliant environment, and developing a high-performing team.
As Centre Manager, you will oversee daily operations, manage budgets and business performance, build strong community partnerships, and identify opportunities to grow programs and services that meet the needs of the Broken Hill community.
About You
You are a people-focused leader who enjoys building strong teams, developing relationships, and creating positive experiences for customers and the community. You are commercially minded, confident managing business performance, and able to balance operational requirements with a strong customer-first approach.
You may come from the recreation, fitness, hospitality, retail, education, community services, or not-for-profit sectors and are looking for an opportunity to use your transferable leadership skills to make a meaningful impact in a regional community.
What You'll Bring
- Proven leadership and people management experience.
- Strong financial management, budgeting, and business planning skills.
- Experience driving business performance and customer engagement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams.
- Experience within recreation, fitness, hospitality, retail, community services, education, or other industries with transferable leadership and operational management skills.
- First Aid, CPR, and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
