We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Director at Mayfield West Outside School Hours Care (OSHC). This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to contribute to the delivery of high-quality care and education within a supportive and dynamic environment.

About the Role

As Assistant Director, you will work closely with the Director to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Mayfield West OSHC service. You will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all children in our care, while supporting and mentoring a dedicated team of educators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director in the overall management and administration of the OSHC service
  • Lead, support, and mentor a team of educators to deliver high-quality programs
  • Ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standards (NQS), and all relevant legislation and regulations
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of engaging educational programs aligned with the My Time, Our Place framework
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, school staff, and the broader community
  • Assist in the management of enrolments, attendance records, and administrative duties
  • Support the Director in staff rostering, performance management, and professional development initiatives
  • Uphold and promote the service's philosophy, policies, and procedures at all times
  • Act as the Responsible Person in the absence of the Director

About You

The ideal candidate will be a motivated and enthusiastic professional with a genuine passion for working with school-age children. You will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in service quality.

Essential Requirements

  • A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education, Child Care, or a related field (Certificate III minimum; Diploma preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience working within an OSHC or similar education and care setting
  • Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards, and relevant legislation
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma management certifications
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently

Desirable Attributes

  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a children's service
  • Experience with child care management software and administrative systems
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
