We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our Environmental Services team. The ideal candidate will contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment, ensuring the well-being of patients, visitors, and staff. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the overall cleanliness and infection control within Yarrawonga Health.

About the role

As a Cleaner/Patient Transport Assistant, you will:

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control across Yarrawonga Health.
  • Clean patient and resident rooms, offices, hallways and other areas.
  • Undertake terminal cleaning and prepare rooms for new patients and residents.
  • Follow appropriate isolation and infection control procedures.
  • Safely operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums and polishers.
  • Assist with patient/resident-focused services and transport duties as required.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and report maintenance or equipment issues.
  • Work as part of a supportive team while also being confident working independently.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to patients, residents, visitors and staff.
  • Contribute to a safe, clean and welcoming environment for everyone who enters our organisation.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, practical and takes pride in their work.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience in a similar cleaning or environmental services role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to work with a wide variety of people.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • An understanding of confidentiality.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to Yarrawonga Health’s values and a patient/resident-focused approach.

You will need to be available to work a range of shifts, including weekly, afternoon and weekend shifts, public holidays and, where required, on-call arrangements.
