Assistant Accountant/ Revenue Officer

About the role:

Yarrawonga Health is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant / Revenue Officer to join our dynamic Finance team. This dual-function role supports the financial operations of the organisation across Acute Services, Residential Aged Care, Community Health, and other business units.

Reporting to the Manager – Finance & Corporate Services, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely revenue services and core accounting functions. Key responsibilities include accounts receivable, debtor management, private patient and aged care billing, and general ledger support.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Demonstrated high level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial data processing and reporting.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated commitment to organisational values and ability to engage with clients and colleagues in a respectful and courteous manner.
  • Proficient in the use of financial and client management systems such as Oracle, Manad, and UNITI.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Sound knowledge of the structure and application of current Aged Care fees and charges as outlined by the Department of Health.
  • Understanding of organisational accreditation processes, including the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting or currently working towards completion.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, with an understanding of sector-specific financial processes.
