Are you currently studying a Diploma of Nursing and passionate about building a meaningful career in healthcare? Yarrawonga Health is offering an exciting Cadetship Program designed to support local students with practical experience, career development, and future employment opportunities!
Yarrawonga Health and GOTAFE have partnered to offer a cadetship program to three students to undertake the first three placements with Yarrawonga Health, with their final being in a larger acute setting. Cadets gain a sound understanding of how Yarrawonga Health operates and undertake practical application of skills learnt in your desired future workplace. You are guaranteed a Graduate EN Nursing program interview and have the opportunity to apply for employment with Yarrawonga Health.
๐ผ About the Role
As a Cadet, youโll be considered an Enrolled Nurse Student and participate in three guaranteed placements across our Residential Aged Care and Community Health departments. Youโll also complete a final acute care placement at a larger health service to round out your clinical experience.
As part of the program, youโll receive a guaranteed interview for our Graduate Enrolled Nurse Program and be eligible to apply for any available Health Care Worker positions throughout your placement.

๐ Key Responsibilities
- Work safely under supervision and within student scope of practice
- Meet student objectives and TAFE placement requirements
- Engage in learning and respond to feedback from supervisors
- Provide person-centred care by:
- Assisting with activities of daily living
- Supporting resident self-care and independence
- Observing and reporting residents' conditions
- Support clinical documentation and nursing assessments
- Promote safe, timely, and appropriate care delivery
- Respect and support the cultural needs of residents
- Foster strong communication with staff, residents, families, and volunteers

Essential:
- Currently enrolled in a Diploma of Nursing program

- Understanding of managing challenging behaviour appropriately
- Team player with effective communication abilities
- Commitment to delivering person-centred, respectful care
