Yarrawonga Health is seeking a dynamic and motivated Nurse Unit Manager – Acute Services to lead our dedicated team across our Acute Ward, Urgent Care Centre, and Dialysis Unit.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Executive Director Clinical Services, you’ll provide strategic and operational leadership across our acute and urgent care areas.

This is a pivotal role where you’ll inspire and guide a multidisciplinary team, drive service excellence, and ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate, and person-centred care.

You will:

✅ Lead the Acute Ward, Urgent Care Centre (UCC), and Dialysis Unit (including two TCP beds)

✅ Manage resources, budgets, and staffing to ensure high-quality care delivery

✅ Foster a culture of clinical excellence, continuous improvement, and collaboration

✅ Drive innovation in service delivery and patient experience

✅ Support and develop your team to reach their full potential

About You

We’re looking for an experienced and energetic leader who is passionate about rural health and making a real difference in their community.

You’ll bring:

  • Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 5 years’ post-registration experience
  • Proven leadership experience within acute or urgent care settings
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and people management skills
  • A commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in acute care and/or management
  • Experience managing budgets and leading diverse teams
  • A collaborative, values-driven leadership style
