About the Roles

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated candidates looking to gain a head start in the construction industry by completing either our Certificate II in Civil Construction (RII20720) or Certificate III in Scaffolding (CPC30920) through our in house GTO Yalagan Group Training Organisation.

What you’ll be doing.

You will complete a Certificate II in Civil Construction (RII20720) or Certificate III in Scaffolding (CPC30920) over 12-24 months (may vary based on each candidate and qualification) through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with the Host Employer.

During your traineeship with the Host Employer, you will report to an experienced supervisor and will have exposure including but not limited to:

  • Erect, maintain, dismantle, and alter scaffolding
  • Plan, build and erect scaffold and working platforms for construction projects
  • Carry out calculations and measurements
  • Interpret plans and specifications
  • Plan and organise your work
  • Use oxy-LPG equipment
  • Work on elevated platforms up to 11 metres

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have the following:

  • Current driver licence or be in the process of obtaining a license
  • WHS Construction White Card (or willing to obtain)
  • Commitment to full term of the traineeship and study requirements
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
  • Comfortable in working at heights
  • Willing and able to undertake the physical nature of the role
  • Trainees will need to have basic literacy and numeracy guidelines
