What you’ll do:
We are looking for a Geotechnical or Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Mining Group, working on various brownfields sustaining capital projects and heavy haul rail projects. This position will be a balance of technical design and mentoring, working closely with our passionate Geotechnical specialists. This role has excellent variety and will see you involved in:
- Undertake geotechnical engineering design and analysis on infrastructure projects
- Manage the entry, validation, and maintenance of the geotechnical database
- Communication of geotechnical issues to the workforce, technical team, and management
- Be involved in geotechnical reports at various stages of project development
- Contribute to the delivery of projects, ensuring work outputs are of a high technical standard
- Client relationship management including external stakeholders and contractor personnel
- Assist and oversee statutory and ownership reports as required to ensure accurate Geotechnical data
- Actively identify and manage geotechnical risks
About You
- Bachelor of Engineering or Science Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology.
- 5+ years’ experience working as an Engineering Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer or similar
- Demonstrated experience working on multidisciplinary brownfields projects
- Strong report writing and excellent communication skills
- Experience with geotechnical data management packages, such as OpenGround, gINT, and GIS applications is beneficial
- The ability to demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and mature judgement in anticipating and solving complex problems
