WSP’s Sydney Building Services team is expanding, and we’re excited to welcome a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to play a key role in delivering one of Australia’s most iconic infrastructure programs — the Sydney Metro Stations project. We will also consider Associate level engineers.

The Opportunity
As a Senior Hydraulic Engineer, you will lead hydraulic design and coordination for complex station environments, helping shape safe, efficient, and future‑ready transport infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across building services, structural, civil, architecture, sustainability and digital engineering.
You’ll bring strong technical capability, a solutions-focused mindset, and confidence working within fast‑paced, large‑scale infrastructure programs.
What You’ll Do
- Lead hydraulic services design for major infrastructure projects, with a focus on Sydney Metro stations
- Develop and review hydraulic documentation, technical reports, specifications, and design packages
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, fire, and civil engineering teams to achieve fully integrated solutions
- Undertake quality reviews, risk assessments, design assurance and compliance checks
- Support digital engineering workflows (Revit, Navisworks, BIM360 etc.)
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including major contractors and government clients
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence within the Building Services group
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 6+ years’ experience in hydraulic engineering
- Proven experience on large infrastructure or major public transport projects
- Strong understanding of the NCC, AS/NZS 3500, and relevant hydraulic standards
- Solid experience in Revit, coordination models, BIM workflows, and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to independently run packages of work in complex project environments
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and multidisciplinary teams
