WSP Australia’s Water Business Group is growing. We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our QLD Water Utilities team. Whether you’re already leading complex delivery or ready for the next step, you’ll find the support, flexibility, and runway to thrive.
What You’ll Do
- Work as part of a national multi-disciplinary team to deliver project goals.
- Liaise with project stakeholders including clients and vendors.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Undertake field and desktop investigations on existing electrical infrastructure for capital upgrades.
- Prepare detailed documentation and specifications for electrical components to support procurement and delivery.
- Apply technical and commercial acumen to achieve successful outcomes for projects and clients.
- Demonstrate specialist safety knowledge in areas such as protection, arc flash, earthing, hazardous areas, and machine safety principles.
About You
- Proven experience in design and delivery of projects in Water (ideal), Mining, Industrial, or Energy sectors.
- 5+ years' Experience in an engineering consultancy or design role for a contractor or asset owner (Water industry preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered Engineer or working towards; RPEQ certification an advantage.
- Strong understanding of standards, conceptual and detailed design, and design management of electrical infrastructure.
- Design background in PTW design (advantage), LV and ELV systems, PLC/telemetry, and Instrumentation and Control.
- Excellent communication skills—written and verbal—with the ability to consult effectively with clients and collaborate internally.
