What you’ll do:

 This position is responsible for ensuring all contractual matters are properly and effectively negotiated, documented and implemented according to company standards. You will be looking after the fabrication and construction contracts on a major wet plant project, working closely with a tier 1 ore producer. This project is currently in detailed engineering phase, with execution planned for mid 2025 which will carry through until late 2027 at this stage.

  • Preparing and issuing tender documentation, enquiries and purchase orders for high value/high risk items
  • Contributing to and reviewing the scopes of work and contract conditions
  • Arranging for the commercial and technical evaluation of bids, and ensuring that purchase orders comply with appropriate specifications
  • Assessing, reviewing and advising senior/project managers in respect of contractor claims for variations, progress claims and extensions
  • Identifying and recommending appropriate procurement strategies to minimise costs without compromising service levels;

About You

  •  A tertiary degree in commerce, engineering, law or other relevant discipline
  • 7+ years experience establishing and managing high‐value long term service contracts
  • Working knowledge of preparing tender docs, negotiation and resolution of claims and overall claim management
  • Experience in working with fabrication and construction contracts, particularly Iron Ore
  • Attention to detail and rigorously follows procedures
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with clients
