About Our Team
In Australia, we partner with developers, utilities, and network service providers to deliver multidisciplinary projects—from the technical delivery of transmission & distribution substations to transmission lines and end-to-end grid connection services across every stage of a project.
Our expertise includes:
- Feasibility & preliminary assessments
- Substation design – Primary and Secondary
- HV infrastructure engineering
- Transmission line engineering
- Power system modelling & simulation
- Generator Performance Standards (GPS) studies
- R2 model validation & GPS compliance assessment
- Ongoing technical advisory through commissioning

We’re looking for experienced professionals across multiple disciplines and levels—right up to Principal roles:
- Secondary Design Engineer
- Substation Design Engineer – Primary
- Electrical Engineer – HV Infrastructure
- Transmission Lines Engineer
- Grid Connections Engineer
- Power System Engineer
- Assistant Project Manager
- Project Manager (up to 4 years’ experience)
About You
- Relevant engineering degree
- Proven experience delivering transmission & distribution projects, ideally in a consulting environment
- Strong technical capability in
- HV design
- Transmission lines (structural)
- Primary and/or secondary substation design
- Power systems and grid connections
- Project Management
- Ability to lead or support a Project Leader with technical delivery from feasibility through to commissioning on transmission and distribution projects
- Confident engaging with clients to provide technical advice and solutions
- A true team player, collaborating across WSP’s Power & Energy teams
