About the role
WSP Australia is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building Services team. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile projects across multiple sectors, with a strong emphasis on Data Centre design for LV and HV Electrical systems. You’ll play a key part in delivering critical infrastructure projects that demand reliability, resilience, and innovation, while contributing to the continued growth and success of our business. We are happy to consider applications from Senior Engineer to Associate Director level.
In this role, you will:
- Provide specialist electrical (LV and HV) design expertise for Data Centres and other mission-critical environments.
- Lead small to medium-sized design projects and support larger, complex programmes, ensuring technical excellence, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Work closely with the WSP HV Energy team to deliver a unified approach to Data Centre Electrical design.
- Contribute to the growth of our Building Services team and help shape our strategic direction in the Data Centre sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver holistic electrical designs for Data Centres, including low, medium and high voltage distribution, redundancy systems, and power resilience strategies.
- Manage and deliver multiple projects concurrently, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
- Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their technical and operational needs.
- Apply best practices to optimise performance, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in Data Centre electrical design, including low, medium and high voltage systems and critical power infrastructure.
- Significant experience (typically 6+ years) in building services engineering, ideally within a consulting environment.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3000, NCC, etc.).
- Familiarity with BIM, Revit MEP, and Navisworks (advantageous).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
