WSP in Australia’s Planning and Mobility team provides integrated transport advisory and planning services to government and private clients. We operate as part of an integrated national team to deliver projects in Western Australia, and throughout Australia and internationally. Our Australian team collaborates with WSP’s world-leading international experts in every continent of the world to ensure our projects learn from international best-practice.
We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Traffic Engineer or Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Planning and Mobility team in Perth. Whether you're building on a solid foundation or stepping into a leadership role, this is your opportunity to work on diverse, high-impact transport projects that shape how people move through cities and communities.
What You’ll Do:
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Traffic Engineer to provide expertise on:
Project Delivery
- Contribute to or lead small to mid-sized traffic engineering projects across planning, design, and delivery phases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, client-focused transport solutions.
Technical Analysis & Design
- Undertake traffic impact assessments, intersection and network modelling, and access strategies.
- Develop concept designs for intersections and active transport networks, incorporating road safety and multimodal transport.
Client Engagement & Proposals
- Support or lead client engagement to understand project needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Assist in or lead the preparation of technical proposals, cost estimates, and project documentation.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure deliverables meet quality standards, safety-in-design principles, and SHEQ requirements.
- Conduct or support road safety audits and crash data analysis.
Team Collaboration & Development
- Work closely with peers and senior staff to share knowledge and develop technical capabilities.
- Participate in professional development initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil or related field).
- 2–10 years’ experience in traffic engineering.
- Proficiency in SIDRA, LinSig, AutoCAD, and AutoTURN. Skills in GIS, Aimsun, or Vissim will be well regarded but are not essential.
- Road Safety Auditor accreditation (desirable).
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Australian working rights.
