About the Role
WSP is seeking a dynamic and well-connected leader to take the helm of our Bridges, Aviation, & Roads (BAR) business in Western Australia. The BAR team forms part of WSP’s Transport and Infrastructure Group, which works collaboratively with our owner and contractor clients to plan, design, manage, and engineer the construction and operation of transport solutions that to help future-proof our communities. Some iconic major projects delivered by BAR include Boorloo Bridge, Swan River Crossings Fremantle, Armadale Line level crossings removal, and Smart Freeways.
Reporting to the Director – Bridges, Aviation, & Roads, this is a rare opportunity for a proven leader who is well-connected in the WA transport and infrastructure market to lead a high-performing team delivering some of the most impactful and high-profile projects in the State and supporting major national projects. The WA BAR business is the market leader in the WA Roads, Bridges, and Aviation sectors, as well as providing civil, structural, digital, technical, and project management services to other sectors serviced by WSP in WA, primarily Rail, Maritime, Mining, Defence, Buildings, and Water.
As the Regional Executive – Bridges, Aviation, & Roads WA you will have responsibility for:
- Leading the WA BAR team (80+ team members) while contributing to national strategy and performance objectives, ensuring alignment with broader Transport & Infrastructure Group goals.
- Maintaining and extending executive-level relationships with key WA transport clients and delivery partners.
- Driving business growth by achieving funding, revenue, margin, and utilisation targets; manage work winning, delivery, and resourcing across all project scales.
- Collaborating with the WA Regional Executive – Rail, Maritime, and Freight to provide our clients with holistic transport solutions
- Collaborating with the Director – BAR Major Projects on alliance and D&C delivery, ensuring robust governance, risk, and opportunity management in all service and project execution.
- Partnering with other WA sector leads to support WSP’s presence and expansion in adjacent sectors.
- Championing Client-Centric Culture to ensure client satisfaction through high-quality outputs and a consulting culture that puts clients first.
- Maintaining high levels of staff engagement and retention via a collaborative, inclusive, high-performance culture.
About You
You’re a proven leader who makes an impact professionally, culturally, and strategically. A decision-maker, you thrive on building and developing strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. You have your finger on the pulse of the transport and infrastructure sector in WA and you are renowned for your expertise in this field.
You have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Business or equivalent
- Post-graduate qualifications / chartered status highly regarded
- At least 10+ years in consulting, infrastructure design, and project delivery.
- At least 10+ years proven leadership in managing large, multidisciplinary teams.
- Deep client relationships with government and contractor partners.
- A passion for people, culture, and delivering excellence.
