About the Role
Are you ready to shape the future of water infrastructure across Australia? As a Senior or Associate Water Infrastructure Planning Engineer, you’ll lead the technical assessment of water supply and sewerage networks to tackle challenges like growth, compliance, performance, and renewals. From strategic and master planning to feasibility studies and business case development, you’ll be at the forefront of projects that make a real impact. You’ll also support asset management and strategy development, working closely with key clients nationwide.
This position will support the NG4D program and can be based out in Brisbane or Gold Coast.
About the Team
Our nationally recognised AMP team specialises in strategic, master, and detailed planning for water and sewer networks, pumping stations, conveyance systems, and related infrastructure. With decades of local and global experience, we support utilities such as Urban Utilities, Sydney Water and SA Water in understanding asset health and forecasting renewals with confidence.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead technical assessments of water supply and sewerage networks to address growth, compliance, performance, and renewal needs.
- Deliver strategic and master planning, options analysis, feasibility investigations, and detailed planning projects.
- Prepare business cases that support investment decisions and long-term infrastructure sustainability.
- Facilitate client and stakeholder workshops, presenting complex ideas in an engaging and accessible way.
- Supervise and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to achieve high-quality outcomes.
- Prepare clear, well-structured technical reports and proposals for medium to large-scale projects.
- Stay active in industry associations and uphold SHEQ standards across all project phases.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in water infrastructure planning and consultancy.
- Strong understanding of water/sewerage network operations and hydraulic principles.
- Experience in hydraulic modelling and applying analytics techniques such as MCA, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Proficiency in GIS and Excel for data interrogation, mapping, and decision support.
- Ability to lead project scoping and proposal development with a client-focused approach.
- Skilled in preparing and delivering effective presentations and workshops.
- Recognised engineering degree (Civil or related); Chartered status (CPENG) is a plus.
