The Opportunity
We’re looking for a motivated Drainage Engineer or Senior Drainage Engineer to join our Bridges, Aviation & Roads team. You’ll help deliver future‑ready solutions on some of NSW’s most exciting transport and infrastructure programs—projects that reshape cities, enhance safety, and improve resilience for generations to come.
Working at the heart of our Transport & Infrastructure Group, you’ll design smarter, safer and more sustainable drainage systems using leading digital tools and an innovation‑driven approach. Whether it’s highways, rail, or aviation infrastructure, your work will directly improve how communities live and move.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing drainage and surface water management solutions for major road and rail projects
- Working on a healthy mix of large‑scale infrastructure and smaller, diverse assignments
- Collaborating with industry‑leading engineers in our Sydney or Parramatta offices
- Contributing to digital engineering workflows and applying best‑practice design tools
- Supporting or leading (depending on level) the development of early‑career engineers
- Playing an active role in a high‑performing team known for quality, innovation and technical excellence
What You’ll Bring
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Recent Australian experience in road, rail or civil drainage projects
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- 4–12 years post‑graduate experience (dependent on role level), ideally in consulting
- Hands‑on experience in surface water drainage design, including water quality measures
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary delivery
- Proficiency in 12D and DRAINS (highly desirable); familiarity with HECRAS, MUSIC, XPRafts, WBMN highly regarded
- Understanding of TfNSW Digital Engineering requirements; experience with Civil 3D Dynamo, 12D macros or Python is a plus
- Chartered status (CPEng) or progress toward it—fully supported by WSP
- A positive mindset, curiosity, and a passion for delivering safe, sustainable, future‑ready solutions
