The Opportunity

If you’re ready to make a real impact, we're on the lookout for a passionate Drainage Engineer or Senior Drainage Engineer to join our Bridges, Aviation and Roads team and help deliver future-ready solutions across NSW and Australia wide most exciting infrastructure projects.

From highways and rail to airports, your work will help connect communities and build resilience across the state.

About the Role

You’ll work on landmark projects in the Road and Rail sectors, plus a mix of smaller initiatives that keep things fresh. With major transport infrastructure wins already under our belt, now’s the time to join a team that’s shaping NWS’s infrastructure future.

This role can be based in our Sydney or Parramatta, where you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with industry-leading engineers and grow your technical expertise.

About You

The suitable candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Proven recent Australian experience within road, rail and drainage projects
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or civil/environmental engineering and tertiary qualification
  • 4- 12 years post graduate experience, role dependent, ideally within a consultancy environment
  • You will have hands on experience and knowledge of surface water drainage design, including water quality measures, for roads, rail and civil projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary projects, using own initiative and taking ownership, for best for project outcomes and technically excellent delivery.
  • Proficiency in 12D and DRAINS is highly desirable with experience in packages such as HECRAS, MUSIC, XPRafts, WBMN would advantageous.
  • Assist/leading (role dependent) in developing less experienced engineers in a collaborative team environment
  • Working knowledge of TfNSW Digital Engineering requirements, use of Civils 3D dynamo and/or 12D macros and python coding is advantageous
  • CPEng or working towards CPEng qualification depending on level and fully support by WSP
  • Be enthusiastic, positive and enjoy working in a high performing team which strives for technical excellence, quality and innovation to deliver safe and sustainable outcomes.
