Structural Designer – National Water Team

Become part of WSP’s national CAD and Digital Engineering team, working on major water projects and mentoring emerging technologists. This role offers technical leadership, collaboration across states, and the chance to make a real impact on sustainable water solutions.

We’re flexible on location—NSW (Sydney or Paramatta), QLD (Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast), SA (Adelaide), or VIC (Melbourne).

What You’ll Do

  • Apply advanced modelling software and analytics techniques to deliver high-quality structural designs.
  • Generate and maintain federated BIM-compliant models, ensuring clash detection, reporting, and database management aligned with client standards.
  • Lead design reviews, client meetings, and check-ins, taking ownership of both large and small projects.
  • Produce concise, high-quality technical documentation and contribute to proposals and pursuits.
  • Collaborate on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, supporting feasibility studies through to detailed design.
  • Drive innovation—challenge the status quo and improve CAD standards and workflows.

About You

  • Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proven structural drafting experience, ideally in water networks, treatment projects, or similar infrastructure.
  • Strong skills in Autodesk Advance Steel, Revit, and BIM coordination (essential).
  • Mechanical drafting experience with Plant 3D highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with Dynamo or coding and point cloud survey is an advantage.
  • Experience in a design consulting environment highly regarded.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication skills.
  • Passion for the water and construction industries, coupled with adaptability to evolving technology.
