As a Senior or Associate Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in multi-disciplinary engineering projects, leveraging your expertise in substation design and high-voltage systems. This is an opportunity to enhance your capabilities and contribute to the continued growth and reputation of our team.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead HV (primary) design of transmission & distribution substations, HV infrastructure and/or Data Centre projects including layouts, ratings, sizing, and technical oversight.
- Develop specifications at both project and equipment levels.
- Apply working knowledge of power system protection, SCADA systems, transmission lines, underground cables, and earthing design.
- Support high-voltage scope for Owner’s Engineer and Technical Due Diligence projects.
- Review and verify designs and reports prepared by other team members.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers in technical delivery and project execution.
- Champion Safety-in-Design (SID) and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, geotechnical, secondary, drafting, and control systems disciplines.
- Undertake short-term site visits as required.
- Prepare proposals and contribute to business development initiatives.
About You:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 10–15 years’ post-graduate experience in HV/EHV electrical engineering.
- RPEQ/RPEV registration or eligibility to attain.
- Proven experience in consultancy environments.
- Strong background in substation, HV infrastructure, cable systems, transmission & distribution utilities, renewable energy projects and/or data centres.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear, robust advice to clients.
- Proficient in proposal and report writing.
