WSP’s Geotechnical business consists of geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists who are involved in investigation, design and construction phase services for transport, water, mining, defence, energy and property projects across Australia.  

We are currently looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our South Australian Geotechnical and Tunnels team and play a pivotal role in developing and delivering innovative projects for our broad client base.  

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer you’ll: 

  • Lead geotechnical investigations with strong technical oversight. 
  • Prepare geotechnical reports and provide design input 
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their professional growth. 
  • Contribute to and/or lead proposals and tenders 
  • Build trusted client relationships and deliver smart, value‑driven solutions. 
  • Identify and manage project risks across technical and contractual areas. 
  • Produce clear, high‑quality technical reports and recommendations. 
  • Be based in our Adelaide office with flexibility and occasional travel, including remote and interstate opportunities 

 What you’ll bring: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, or closely related discipline) or equivalent qualification.  
  • 5+ years’ experience in geotechnical investigation, reporting and design 
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in client‑facing roles. 
  • Experience mentoring junior team members. 
  • Demonstrated ability to apply modelling software and/or analytical techniques (such as PLAXIS, FLAC, SLIDE, gINT, or similar) to solve complex geotechnical challenges.
