What You’ll Do as a Senior/Associate Transmission Lines Engineer

  • Deliver innovative engineering solutions across the overhead transmission and distribution sector, with additional contributions to generation and industrial HV projects.
  • Lead end‑to‑end transmission line design projects, demonstrating strong technical capability and project leadership.
  • Apply expert knowledge of Australian and international standards relating to transmission line design, testing, and commissioning.
  • Use PLS-CADD, including TOWER and POLE modules, with a high level of proficiency.
  • Understand and contribute across the full lifecycle of transmission assets—from planning and concept design through construction, operation, and maintenance.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, driving technical development and fostering a collaborative, high‑performance team culture.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support project delivery and identify new opportunities.
  • Provide technical and operational support to clients, offering recommendations that enhance performance, safety, innovation, and sustainability.
  • Comply with all Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) requirements and uphold professional standards at all times.
  • Take ownership of your development through ongoing Thrive conversations, goal setting, and continuous improvement.

About You

  • Degree‑qualified in Electrical, Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in a technical consulting or engineering delivery role; experience with design management is an advantage.
  • Strong electrical and/or structural engineering capability in Transmission Lines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels and with external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software tools.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
  • Commercially aware with a mature understanding of business drivers and client expectations.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working in dynamic, fast‑evolving project environments.
