WSP Sydney is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our growing Building Services team. As one of the world’s leading engineering and professional services firms, WSP delivers innovative, sustainable solutions across sectors including Aviation, Healthcare, Mission Critical, Residential Towers, Education and Commercial Buildings.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Fire Protection Engineer, you’ll drive fire protection design excellence across a variety of complex and high‑profile building projects. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the ongoing growth and capability of our Sydney office.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading fire protection design (wet and dry systems) and ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, NCC and client requirements
- Delivering high‑quality documentation and cost‑effective design solutions
- Collaborating with architects, engineers and external stakeholders across diverse project sectors
- Building strong client relationships and representing WSP with professionalism
- Supporting business development activities and helping grow our presence in the Sydney market
- Mentoring junior team members and fostering a supportive, collaborative team culture
- Bringing fresh thinking, initiative and technical rigour to every project
About You
You’re not just technically strong — you’re excited about what’s ahead for fire protection engineering and ready to take the next step.
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent) with 6+ years’ experience in building services
- Strong technical capability in fire protection design and documentation
- Familiarity with Revit MEP, BIM workflows and coordination tools
- Consulting experience is ideal, but we welcome candidates from D&C backgrounds ready to transition into consulting
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect confidently with clients and project partners
- A positive, proactive mindset and genuine passion for engineering
