As a Team Manager in our Water Utilities team, you’ll collaborate with top-tier professionals on iconic Future Ready™ projects that make a lasting difference to communities, clients, and the environment.
If you're a seasoned leader with a solid foundation in civil engineering, this is the perfect time to join our growing Water team in Sydney. In this key role, you’ll lead a talented team of 10–15 engineers, project managers, and design professionals — championing innovation, driving technical excellence, and delivering impactful project outcomes.
You’ll report directly to the Team Executive, NSW, and play a vital role in delivering some of the state’s most important and future-focused infrastructure projects.
What You’ll Do
You're more than a Team Manager —you’re a problem solver, leader, and collaborator. With a consultative mindset and a knack for influencing stakeholders, you know how to prioritise and deliver.
As Team Manager, you will:
- Lead daily operations, staff development, and team wellbeing
- Maintain billable work while ensuring project quality and budget performance
- Provide hands-on technical delivery on key projects
- Support recruitment and resource planning alongside senior leadership
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development
- Drive alignment with WSP’s strategic direction, safety, and values
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- 10+ years of engineering consultancy experience, ideally in the water sector
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proven success in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong technical background in project and design management of water systems
- Business development and proposal leadership experience
- Established networks within the NSW Water market
- A collaborative mindset and passion for innovation
What You’ll Bring
- Strategic thinking and a future-ready mindset
- Confident, empathetic, and decisive leadership
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A commitment to safety, quality, and WSP’s core values
