What You’ll Do

As a Senior or Associate Electrical Engineer, you’ll own complex, multi-disciplinary projects, applying your expertise in substation design and high-voltage systems to shape the energy networks of tomorrow. In this role you will:

  • Lead HV (primary) design for transmission & distribution substations, HV infrastructure, and data centre projects—covering layouts, ratings, sizing, and technical oversight.
  • Develop detailed specifications at both project and equipment levels.
  • Apply knowledge of power system protection, SCADA systems, transmission lines, underground cables, and earthing design.
  • Support high-voltage scope for Owner’s Engineer and Technical Due Diligence projects.
  • Review and verify designs and reports prepared by peers.
  • Mentor junior engineers and champion technical excellence.
  • Drive Safety-in-Design (SID) and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Collaborate across disciplines—civil, structural, geotechnical, secondary, drafting, and control systems.
  • Undertake short-term site visits as needed.
  • Contribute to proposals and business development initiatives.

About You

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 7–15+ years’ post-graduate experience in HV/EHV electrical engineering.
  • RPEQ/RPEV registration or eligibility.
  • Proven engineering consultancy experience.
  • Chartered status at Associate level
  • Strong background in substation design, HV infrastructure, cable systems, transmission & distribution utilities, renewable energy projects, and/or data centres.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear, robust advice to clients.
  • Skilled in proposal and report writing.
