Mining

Our global team of over 5,200 dedicated mining professionals are supporting the industry to decarbonise mining operations in the accelerating green transition. Working collaboratively across borders and disciplines, you’ll join a leading team working on interesting and complex projects. We are experts in our field, and we are passionate about mining.

About the role:

  • This is based in our Brisbane office
  • Working on a broad range of structural engineering design projects
  • Producing design calculations, mainly concrete and steel, to Australian Standards and client specifications
  • Conduct structural integrity inspection for existing mining infrastructure
  • Conduct structural engineering analysis and design for both brownfield and greenfield sites.
  • Supporting the wider resources team and other teams within the company nationally when the opportunity presents.
  • Working in an established team of structural engineers within a multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver a diverse range of mine process and non-process infrastructure projects

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree Civil Engineering or relevant qualification;
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ);
  • Proficient with structural analysis and design software preferably Space Gass, Limcon and Strand7.
  • Experience in design of mining and industrial infrastructure, maintenance facilities and materials handling structures will be highly desirable
  • Experience in all stages of projects from prefeasibility through to detail design
  • Some experience with demolition planning and design is desirable
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive mindset and a self-starter

  • Proven industry experience
  • Practical site experience (particularly with demolition)
  • Navisworks experience for design checking and delivery
  • Written communication skills – ability to help with studies, reporting and project documentation (scope of works and technical specifications).
  • Python or other automation and programming software to help improve efficiency.
  • Active in industry bodies (Engineers Australia or other structural engineering)
  • A commitment to diversity, environment, health, safety, and society.
