What you’ll do:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced environmental professional to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to lead and deliver complex environmental approvals and planning projects across Australia, with a strong focus on resource sector developments and large-scale infrastructure initiatives. Your day to day will look like;

  • Lead and deliver environmental assessment and planning projects, with a particular focus on resource projects and major infrastructure developments.
  • Provide senior-level coordination within multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of all environmental approvals aligned with project and business objectives.
  • Contribute to business development and work-winning activities, including preparing competitive and compelling proposals.
  • Collaborate with leadership, client teams, project managers, and technical specialists (ecologists, acousticians, contaminated land scientists, engineers, designers) to provide strategic advice and innovative solutions for best-practice environmental outcomes.
  • Interpret data to develop effective monitoring programmes and assess environmental impacts of major developments.

Joining our WA Approvals team, you'll get to work on large scale projects, such as;

  • Mining construction and resource infrastructure
  • Renewable energy (generation and transmission)
  • Transport infrastructure (road, rail, and Net Zero transition)
  • Water and utilities projects
  • Property developments and broader land-use planning initiatives

About You

You will play a pivotal role in shaping best-practice environmental outcomes, supporting the growth and capability of our team, and strengthening relationships with clients in both public and private sectors. If you are passionate about driving sustainable solutions and mentoring others in a collaborative environment, we would love to hear from you. Ideally you will come with the following;

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Urban Planning, Ecology, or a related discipline (Master’s or postgraduate qualifications highly regarded)
  • 5–10 years’ experience in environmental planning and approvals
  • Proven ability to lead or contribute to major projects and approval strategies, particularly in the resource sector
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and policy frameworks within Australia
  • Experience with GIS, data analysis, or digital tools for environmental assessment is advantageous
  • Technical expertise in environmental impact assessments and approvals, ideally including experience in the Pilbara or similar regions
  • Demonstrated success in delivering environmental approvals for major projects
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring and team development (for senior candidates)
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to contributing to a high-performing, growing team
