Based in Adelaide, you’ll collaborate with a national team of water professionals spanning Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, and Gold Coast, providing expertise on holistic, sustainable water resource solutions for governments, corporations, utilities, and more.

About the Role

We're on the lookout for an innovative Design Manager / Project Manager with a background in water, mining, or industrial sectors. In this role, you’ll:

  • Be part of one of Adelaide's largest water-sector consulting teams, contributing to groundbreaking projects with nationwide impact.
  • Collaborate with industry-leading clients, including SA Water, Logan City Council, Sydney Water, Urban Utilities, and more.
  • Oversee design projects, ensuring top-tier quality, timely delivery, and outstanding results.
  • Prepare design fee estimates, steer engineering governance, and ensure projects meet legal, quality, and client standards.
  • Drive future-ready strategies that address regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and sustainability.
  • Partner with design organisations in Alliance or Joint Venture settings to tackle complex challenges.
  • Embed risk management principles into project systems and methodologies.
  • Manage design teams and collaborate with contractor workforces.
  • Advance your skills and enhance your professional reputation within the trusted WSP brand.

About You

You're more than a Design Manager —you’re a problem solver, leader, and collaborator. With a consultative mindset and a knack for influencing stakeholders, you know how to prioritise and deliver.

You have:

  • A recognised degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical (Process), or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in the Water (preferred), Industrial, or Mining sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership in design delivery and conflict resolution within partnerships or Joint Venture settings.
  • Advanced technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to manage complex systems.
  • Bonus points for experience in contracts, cost reporting, and commercial imperatives.
