Our Mining Group
We have a global team of over 5,200 dedicated mining professionals are supporting the industry to decarbonise mining operations in the accelerating green transition. Working collaboratively across borders and disciplines, you’ll join a leading team working on interesting and complex projects. We are experts in our field, and we are passionate about mining. Our tailings engineers work on large-scale, world-class projects both in Australia and internationally. We are the tailings consultant of choice for several global mining companies, and our team works across the entire full lifecycle of tailings projects, from feasibility and site investigation through to design, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance, and closure.
What you’ll do:
You’ll deliver specialist hydrology and water management solutions that enable safe, compliant, and sustainable mining operations. You’ll work across the full project lifecycle; from early studies to detailed design, construction, and closure, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of mine engineers, geotechnical specialists, and environmental scientists.
- Lead and oversee the planning, development, and management of water resources for various purposes, such as drinking water supply, irrigation, hydropower generation, flood control, and environmental preservation.
- Provide technical advice on flood risk, water balance, and environmental water management strategies.
- Oversee water-related risk assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory and international standards.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on mine water projects.
- Proactively maintain effective networks and relevant industry relationships to gain cooperation in meeting business and client outcomes.
About You
You are a recognised water resources professional with a strong background in hydrology, hydraulics, and mine water management. You combine deep technical expertise with leadership skills and the ability to deliver tailored solutions in complex mining environments. Ideally you'll bring;
- Bachelors Degree (Engineering).
- Chartered status (CPEng, RPEQ, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a consultancy environment.
- Demonstrated competence in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of high-profile projects.
- Demonstrated multiple instances of delivering best client outcomes/options which have saved the client costs/time.
- Established a recognised profile within industry associations e.g. Active involvement in shaping the industry.
- Competent in monitoring and managing the scope of multiple projects of varying complexity and size.
