WSP is looking for talented Fire Systems Engineers to join our high-performing Geotechnical & Tunnels team within our Earth & Environment business. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of fire safety within some of Australia’s most complex infrastructure projects.

Whether you’re a seasoned Senior Designer ready to provide leadership, or an Intermediate Engineer looking to step up, we are building a national fire engineering discipline and this is your opportunity to be part of it!

What You'll Do

In this role, you will support or lead the design and delivery of fire safety systems for major property, building, and transport projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing sprinkler, hydrant, and dry fire systems in accordance with Australian standards.
  • Producing and reviewing technical documentation, specifications, and fire safety reports.
  • Applying fire engineering and life safety principles across complex building and tunnel environments.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams across WSP.
  • Supporting mentoring and contributing to team development and culture.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant State and Federal legislation.

What We're Looking for

  • Accreditation as a Fire Systems Designer (or actively working toward obtaining it)
  • Degree in Engineering (Fire, Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, or equivalent).
  • Experience designing fire systems—hydraulics professionals with wet systems experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in wet and dry fire system design (sprinklers, hydrants, detection).
  • Experience on transport or major infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Ability to take leadership in design, supported by discipline leads and management.
  • Experience in team building, mentoring, or developing junior engineers.
