Are you looking to build your career in construction, gain hands‑on site experience, and work on major projects across Australia? WSP in Australia is looking for a motivated Construction Quality Assurance Technician to join our team.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys practical, on‑site work, has great attention to detail, and wants to grow their skills while supporting experienced engineers and project managers.

Applicants must be prepared for FIFO work—this role is site‑focused, with around 80% of your time spent on in‑state or interstate project sites.

What You’ll Do

As part of our construction and quality assurance team, you will:

  • Support the delivery of construction projects by helping implement project plans and programs
  • Assist with site activities while following WSP, client, and government safety requirements
  • Identify safety hazards, and report incidents in line with OH&S standards
  • Keep accurate records of site activities, focusing on Quality Assurance and Quality Control
  • Carry out QA inspections and testing for earthworks, geosynthetics installation, and general construction
  • Communicate site progress to senior engineers and project managers
  • Support internal teams with office-based tasks, data analysis, and report preparation
  • Interpret drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Help prepare tenders, reports, cost estimates, and construction methodologies
  • Perform other duties as needed to support project delivery

What You’ll Bring

You’ll succeed in this role if you have:

  • 2–6 years’ experience, including 4+ years on construction sites
  • Experience with bulk earthworks, field testing, sampling, and geosynthetics
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to prepare clear field reports
  • A strong focus on safety and quality
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good time management and organisation skills
  • A current driver’s licence

Bonus skills (not essential but helpful):

  • Trade certificates
  • Nuclear density gauge licence
  • Training such as forklift, EWP, working at heights, or confined space
