The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Transport Engineer (5 years’ experience) to join our Brisbane Planning & Mobility team. With a strong and growing pipeline of work across Queensland, this role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of traffic engineering and transport projects for State and Local Government and private sector clients.

You will be part of a high‑performing, supportive team delivering practical, evidence‑based traffic engineering outcomes across urban development, transport infrastructure, and network operations projects.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver traffic engineering inputs across a variety of projects, including traffic impact assessments, intersection analysis, corridor studies and operational reviews
  • Undertake traffic modelling and analysis using industry‑standard tools (e.g. SIDRA, LinSig, VISSIM or similar)
  • Prepare clear, well‑structured technical reports and advice to support client decision‑making
  • Contribute to the design and review of traffic management and access arrangements
  • Work collaboratively with transport planners, designers and other disciplines across WSP
  • Build strong relationships with clients, authorities and internal stakeholders
  • Be supported to develop your technical capability, project experience and professional accreditation

About You

You will bring:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5 years’ experience in traffic engineering or transport engineering consulting
  • Exposure to traffic analysis, modelling and reporting for Australian projects
  • Familiarity with Queensland and/or Australian traffic standards and guidelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a desire to grow your career
  • Progress toward (or attainment of) RPEQ / CPEng will be highly regarded
