Our Mining Group

Our global team of over 5,200 dedicated mining professionals are supporting the industry to decarbonise mining operations in the accelerating green transition. Working collaboratively across borders and disciplines, you’ll join a leading team working on interesting and complex projects. We are experts in our field, and we are passionate about mining.

What you’ll do:

In this role, you’ll contribute to the design, assessment, and operation of tailings storage facilities (TSFs) and associated infrastructure. You’ll be involved across the project lifecycle, from concept and feasibility through to detailed design, construction support, and closure planning. Working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you'll gain exposure to technically diverse and high-profile projects. Your day to day will also include;

  • Undertaking screening level and detailed design analyses to support the design of tailings storage facilities and other earth structures, initially under close guidance from our senior specialists, but with a view to carrying out such work independently.
  • Interpreting results from laboratory testing and preparing summary reports, and developing a basis for defensible soil strength parameters, using laboratory and field results.
  • Developing designs for tailings storage facilities and other earth structures.
  • Undertaking field work to manage the specification and implementing design changes while on site.
  • Assist with project planning and preparation of technical deliverables.
  • Engaging with multidisciplinary teams including water, environmental, geotech, and mine planning professionals
  • Preparing and delivering technical reports on time.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical or related discipline;
  • Experience working on tailings/mine waste related projects locally or internationally, ideally in a consulting environment 
  • Enthusiasm for fieldwork with practical experience.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a desire to work across diverse project teams
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to high-quality, safe outcomes
