As a Financial Analyst at WSP Australia you will support the General Manager, Finance Planning & Control while partnering with a variety of stakeholders across our business.

What you’ll do:

  • Budget/Forecast and Financial Analysis, including budgeting and forecasting processes to deliver accurate and timely information in accordance with Australia and head office timeframes, and providing timely monitoring of Enterprise functions’ financial performance and analysis of deviations from budget or forecast.
  • WSP Group Reporting, assisting in the compilation of the monthly/quarterly business reviews for the Australia region, and assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to WSP Global Head Office based in Canada.
  • Compliance and Internal Audit, managing the interim and year internal audit process and coordinating 52-109 SOX audit requirements.
  • Strategic Analysis, providing financial analysis to support and inform the strategic plan; and obtaining market data and public information for benchmarking to provide analysis and updates for senior management.

About you:

This role will suit someone who is quite analytical in their thinking, and who has a strong attention to detail. You can do amazing things with an Excel spreadsheet and you have good accounting and financial systems knowledge. You have excellent communications skills and the ability and confidence to engage with a diverse range of key business stakeholders.

  • Degree qualified, and CA/CPA qualified or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years' practical experience in a chartered firm or corporate accounting role. Big 4 experience will be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Good understanding of accounting, budgeting, forecasting, auditing and reporting activities.
  • Good systems knowledge including large ERPs (Oracle), Power BI, IBM Planning Analytics, Hyperion and advanced MS Excel skills.
