About the role
We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer (Senior to Principal level) to join our National Asset Management and Planning team. In this role, you will lead the technical assessment and strategic planning of water supply and sewerage networks to address growth, compliance, network performance, and renewals. Your work will include master planning, options assessments, feasibility studies, and business case preparation, while supporting asset management and strategy development across key clients.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead and deliver technical tasks across a wide range of high-profile water infrastructure projects
- Facilitate client and stakeholder workshops
- Prepare clear, professional technical reports on medium to large projects
- Assist in proposal preparation for medium to large projects
- Supervise and coordinate project teams to meet objectives and client expectations
- Participate in relevant industry associations
- Comply with all SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) obligations
About you
You have a strong background in delivering engineering consultancy services to public and private clients, with skills including:
- Planning and technical expertise in water supply and sewerage networks - circa 10+ years
- Effective communication and presentation skills for workshops and client meetings
- Leading project scoping and proposal development
- Understanding hydraulic principles and experience with hydraulic modelling
- Using analytics and decision support methods such as Multi-Criteria Analysis (MCA), risk assessments, and cost-benefit analysis
- Proficient in GIS and Excel for data analysis and mapping
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent (Chartered professional status - CPENG - is a plus)
