What you’ll do:
WSP is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Mining team, supporting sustaining capital and brownfields mining projects across our East Coast region. This role offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative group of engineers and designers delivering practical, fit-for-purpose civil solutions that keep Australia’s major mining operations running safely and efficiently.
- Lead and deliver civil engineering design packages for sustaining capital and brownfields projects within operating mine sites.
- Undertake detailed design, calculations, and documentation for earthworks, drainage, haul roads, pavements, access roads, pads, culverts, and other site infrastructure.
- Coordinate design interfaces with structural, mechanical, electrical, and environmental disciplines.
- Oversee and review work produced by junior engineers and designers, ensuring compliance with WSP standards and client specifications.
- Prepare scopes of work, design reports, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
- Engage directly with clients and stakeholders to define project requirements, provide technical advice, and ensure designs meet operational needs.
- Contribute to project scheduling, progress tracking, and quality assurance processes.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- 7+ years of civil engineering experience, ideally within mining or heavy industrial brownfields environments.
- Proven experience delivering sustaining capital or small-to-medium-sized brownfields projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support.
- Proficient in design software and related drainage and earthworks modelling tools.
- Strong understanding of Australian standards, mine site safety requirements, and constructability principles.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
