Based in our Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane CBD offices, you’ll collaborate with our renowned Geotechnical and National Tunnels team delivering fire engineering services for some of Australia’s most iconic infrastructure projects, including High Speed Rail, Suburban Rail Loop IV, Melbourne Underground Rail Loop Upgrade Project, Pumped Hydro projects, and the T4 Eastern Suburbs Fire Safety Upgrade.

As a Fire Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality fire engineering solutions across complex and high-profile transport and civil infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering fire safety engineering services for major transport and infrastructure projects
- Developing and documenting performance‑based fire engineering solutions
- Undertaking fire and life safety analysis, including egress, tenability, smoke management and fire scenarios
- Preparing fire engineering reports and technical documentation
- Participating in design team meetings and attending site inspections
- Liaising with clients, authorities, and stakeholders to support project outcomes
- Providing day‑to‑day guidance to junior engineers
About You
You’ll bring a combination of technical capability, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills, along with a passion for contributing to safer, smarter transport systems.
You’ll ideally have:
- A degree in Fire Safety, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Postgraduate qualifications in Fire Safety Engineering (preferred)
- 4–5 years’ experience in fire safety engineering
- Strong knowledge of BCA/NCC, Australian Standards, and relevant regulations
- Experience using modelling tools such as FDS and Pathfinder
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong project coordination abilities and a practical, solutions-focused mindset
