Our global team of over 5,200 dedicated mining professionals are supporting the industry to decarbonise mining operations in the accelerating green transition. Working collaboratively across borders and disciplines, you’ll join a leading team working on interesting and complex projects. We are experts in our field, and we are passionate about mining.
What you’ll do:
At WSP, we’re driven by curiosity and united by purpose. Our Sustaining Capital team partners with major mining clients across Australia to deliver innovative solutions that make operations safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to bring technical leadership and underground mining expertise to our projects. Key responsibilities:
- Prepares and supervises the preparation of mechanical engineering designs, drawings, specifications, schedules, quantity and cost estimates.
- Assess performance of mechanical assets against safety, cost, environmental impact and reliability in line with company standards.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, process, civil, geotechnical) to deliver integrated project outcomes.
- Prepare high level technical reports and review medium size project reports.
- Contribute to building the technical capability of others and transferring technical expertise within the organisation.
About You
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Discipline.
- Experience in monitoring and managing the scope of multiple projects of varying complexity and size.
- Balances innovation, quality and technical excellence with delivery to timelines and budget.
- Proven background in material handling systems, mine dewatering, ventilation, or fixed plant within large-scale projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes in a client-facing role.
