What you’ll do:
At WSP, we partner with major mining clients across Australia to deliver sustainable, practical, and technically robust solutions. You’ll join a team of tailings, water, geotechnical and mine engineering specialists who are passionate about helping clients manage mine waste safely, efficiently, and responsibly.
This role is ideal for someone with consulting experience who thrives in a varied environment, balancing project delivery, client engagement, and contributing to proposals and business development. You’ll manage small to medium-sized projects, with opportunities to grow your leadership and commercial skills as part of an established national practice.
- Deliver a program of projects for key clients through management of key stakeholders and contractors, focused on tailings and mine waste projects.
- Manage budgets, schedules, risk, reporting, and quality across multiple projects.
- Manage work programs to deliver engineering services with respect to mine waste management.
- Support multiple concurrent projects across the entire life cycle, including design management, tendering, contract administration, financial management, project scheduling and risk management.
- Build strong client relationships and play a key role in identifying, bidding, and winning new work.
- Plan and direct field investigations and other tasks to meet project requirements.
- Lead the design of tailings storage facilities and other earthen structures, from conceptual through to delivery stages.
About You
- Bachelor degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Mining Engineering or project management qualifications are desirable.
- Proven project management experience including managing multiple coinciding programs with internal and external stakeholders with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience in tailings, mine waste, water infrastructure, or civil engineering (mining sector preferred).
- An appetite for client engagement, proposals, and contributing to work winning.
- A collaborative, proactive mindset and a passion for delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing high quality service to clients within budget and time constraints.
