The opportunity

As a junior Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll support senior engineers in delivering geotechnical investigations, analysis, and reporting for a range of civil, mining and infrastructure projects. 

This role has a mix of both fieldwork (sometimes in regional locations) and office-based studies, so you will gain hands-on experience across the project life cycle.  

You’ll be part of a tight-knit, delivery-driven team working alongside locally and nationally recognised experts in geotechnical site assessments, engineering geology, numerical analysis and other related geotechnical disciplines 

Your key responsibilities: 

• Assist in planning and conducting geotechnical site investigations 
• Collect and analyse soil, rock, and groundwater samples 
• Prepare field logs and laboratory testing schedules 
• Contribute to geotechnical factual and interpretive reports 
• Support senior engineers with data analysis, geotechnical design and modelling 
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations 

About you 

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or equivalent 
• 2+ years of experience in geotechnical or civil engineering (recent graduates encouraged to apply!) 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Good written and verbal communication skills 
• Willingness to travel to site locations as required 
• Valid Australian driver’s licence
