Lead with Purpose as Electrical Team Manager – Water Utilities, NSW
We’re on the lookout for a driven and dynamic Electrical Team Manager to lead the charge on some of New South Wales’ most transformative water infrastructure projects. If you thrive at the intersection of technical excellence and leadership, this is your opportunity to make a lasting difference — for your team, your clients, and your community.
At WSP, we’re delivering Future Ready™ solutions that are reshaping how water is sourced, treated, and distributed across the state. In this role, you’ll lead a diverse and high-performing team of 10–15 engineers, project managers, and design experts — guiding complex, multidisciplinary projects from concept to completion.
What you'll do
As Electrical Team Manager, you’ll wear many hats — mentor, strategist, technical expert, and delivery leader. Here’s what your week might look like:
- Lead and coordinate project delivery, team resourcing, and operational planning across multiple active engagements.
- Mentor and coach your team — building capability, supporting wellbeing, and fostering career growth.
- Apply senior-level technical input to concept development, integration, and design of electrical systems for water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Ensure project delivery hits the mark — on time, on budget, in line with compliance, and never short on innovation.
- Collaborate with senior leaders on business development and strategic growth.
- Champion safety, sustainability, and quality in everything you and your team do.
About you
You’re an experienced leader who’s equal parts technically sharp and people-savvy. You know the water sector inside out, and you’re ready to take your influence to the next level.
- 10+ years in engineering consultancy, with deep expertise in electrical design for water/wastewater infrastructure
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams on complex engineering programs
- Strong knowledge of Australian standards, power distribution systems, MCCs, SCADA, and automation for water assets
- Proven track record delivering detailed design packages, technical documentation, and overseeing D&C or EPC projects
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, proposal writing, and risk-informed decision-making
Who you are
- A confident, empathetic leader who leads by example
- A strategic thinker with a practical edge
- A clear communicator who thrives in collaboration
- A champion for innovation, safety, and continuous improvement
