Role Overview: As a Consultant in Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials at WSP, you will embark on a rewarding journey, supporting strategic projects across various sectors. Your role will focus on assessing occupational hygiene and hazardous materials risks, contributing to the delivery of sustainable and safe solutions for our clients in Canberra.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of innovative solutions in occupational hygiene and hazardous materials management.
  • Assist in the successful delivery of projects by conducting risk assessments, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Participate in the preparation of technical and strategic advice for clients, under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Help strengthen client relationships through excellent service delivery and effective communication.
  • Contribute to the technical project delivery team, focusing on accuracy, timeliness, and quality of work.
  • Support project management activities, including documentation and coordination, to ensure smooth execution and client satisfaction.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities, learning from experienced mentors and contributing to a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement in all tasks and projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Interest in attaining professional certifications, such as Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable interest or experience in occupational hygiene and hazardous materials management, with a keenness to develop expertise in this area.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under guidance.
  • Basic project management skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • A proactive, motivated approach to learning and professional development.
