About the Role
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading operations and team members on improvements in operational processes, daily warehouse operations, LEAN implementation, equipment and facilities management, health and safety requirements and is responsible for managing the labour levels and budget for the warehouse.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead and maintain a safe workplace environment for employees, contractors, customers and visitors through the adherence to company and legislative standards. This includes, but not limited to, LTIs, IMS compliance and Complete Site Action Plans.
- Maintain a high Standard of housekeeping. Coordinate, manage and continuously review the allocation and performance of all resources to ensure service and productivity standards/ targets are met. This is measured by the ABC Model Outcome/Customer Satisfaction.
- Provide operational KPI dashboard daily and communicate to DC Manager and direct reports as appropriate.
- Measure performance against ABC report and maintain / improve performance and control and manage processes & costs consistent with or better than budget.
- Responsible for daily and weekly production/planning meetings with all direct Customers Including other Key team members
- Responsible for overall KPI results. Drive engagement across the team, facilitating the sharing of ideas in a way that supports achievement of KPIs and continuous improvement. Conduct Operations meetings with all direct team members to develop /monitor progress of improvement programs and communicate KPI results. Provide action plans to DC Manager for review and discussion.
- Monitor and review and support employee training and succession plans and create a positive and committed shop floor
- Mentor and coach report your team to meet performance and succession planning targets.
- Implement business strategy as directed by your line manager
- Manage labour budget and entire overall roster for the week
- Ensure accuracy of timesheet requirements in conjunction with leads
- Sponsor and lead change initiatives within the DC, including partnering with support functions throughout Supply Chain and other business units.
- Be responsible for Engagement Survey results and Administer Engagement Survey actions
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor of Business Management / Supply Chain Desirable
- Diploma of Business Management /LEAN accreditation.
- LO and LF Licenses Desirable, but not essential.
- Strong experience as an Operations Manager role (or similar) in a large Warehouse/Distribution Centre.
- Previous experience in managing other managers, supervisors and a large group of employees in one location.
- Strong Analytical background with ability to use Excel and understand the use of a Warehouse Management System.

- Exceptional leadership skills with ability to inspire and motivate
- Experience in managing workforce planning
- Sound understanding of warehouse methodologies
