About the Role
As Planning Lead, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of demand and supply planning for the ADF uniform program, ensuring contracted inventory levels are maintained while driving forecast accuracy, supply reliability, and cross-functional alignment. You will lead a high-performing team to deliver accurate forecasts, purchase order management, and supplier coordination, while partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve planning issues, implement efficiencies, and drive performance across key KPIs. With a focus on proactive risk mitigation and continuous improvement, you’ll be instrumental in strengthening our supply chain and ensuring the delivery of mission-critical products to Australia’s Defence Force.
What you’ll be doing
- ADF Planning & Reporting: Develop and manage forecasts, identify supply variances, and align plans with supplier capacity and lead times.
- Purchase Order Management: Oversee PO processes from initiation to supplier confirmation, ensuring accuracy, timeline adherence, and risk management.
- Inventory Management: Drive inventory strategy to meet KPIs, mitigate risks, and manage stock positions across the product lifecycle.
- Supplier Management & Coordination: Collaborate with production to optimise supplier performance, lead time analysis, and MOQ strategies.
- Sales & Operations Planning: Lead detailed monthly reviews of demand vs. sales forecasts and communicate variances and resolutions to key stakeholders.
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years’ experience in a senior demand or supply planning role, ideally within a complex supply chain or apparel environment
- Strong statistical and forecasting knowledge, with an ability to interpret data and drive process improvements
- Proficient in MS Office, advanced Excel, and Power BI; experience with demand planning systems essential
- Proven leadership capability with a strong track record in people development and cross-functional collaboration
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organised with a results-driven mindset
- Confident communicator with strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
