Location: Gold Coast Region (travel will be required for this role)

Contract type: Casual (2 positions available!)

About the role:

This position is field-based and involves working as part of our local restoration teams. The successful applicant will deliver bush regeneration and revegetation projects. Activities will include herbicide application, manual weed work, erosion control and revegetation.

Essential Criteria 

Only candidates that meet the criteria will be considered for this role.

• Minimum 1 year relevant work experience or equivalent voluntary experience 
• Physically fit, motivated and capable of working in challenging outdoor environments
• Ability to travel to work locations between Brisbane and Tweed areas
• Good communicator, effective at working independently and as part of a team 
• Understanding and ability to follow WHS policies and procedures
• Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment 
• Reliable transport to be on site by 6:30am and 4:00pm daily.
• White card- Construction industry OH&S
• Proven experience working with weed control, bushland maintenance and bush regeneration and native plant identification relevant to South East Queensland.
• Experience in leading a small group of bush regenerators/ tree planters (Highly regarded)

Licensing and Checks (Preferred/Willing to obtain):

• Current Driving License
• Chainsaw tickets level 1 or 2
• Construction Induction Safety certificate (White Card) or willing to get
• Police Check
• Blue Card/ Working with Children's Check (Where applicable)
• Qualifications in Conservation and Ecosystem management/ OR higher education
• Agricultural chemicals distribution control license
